Pipedrive SMS and email, on every deal change.
Sequence listens to Pipedrive and turns leads, deals and activities into events. Your agent wires each one to a text or email sequence: a speed-to-lead text, a reminder before a meeting, a follow-up when a deal moves stage.
When a deal reaches Proposal Sent, text the contact that the proposal is in their inbox, and email a reminder three days later if it hasn't moved.
What your agent does
- Step 1
connect_integration
Connects Pipedrive
With an API token. Sequence registers one webhook in your Pipedrive account and nothing else.
Excerpt of the call
{ "provider": "pipedrive", "token": "…" } - Step 2
create_sequence
Starts on a deal stage
deal.stage_changed carries the stage it left and the stage it entered, so a filter can target one move.
Excerpt of the call
{ "name": "Proposal sent", "trigger_type": "event", "trigger_event_name": "deal.stage_changed", "trigger_filter": [ { "prop": "stage_to", "op": "eq", "value": "Proposal Sent" } ] } - Step 3
upsert_template
Writes the text and the email
Tokens include the deal title, value, owner and supported Pipedrive custom fields.
- Step 4
add_step
Lays out the timing
A text right away and an email three days later, or steps timed from a meeting's start time.
- Step 5
update_sequence
Stops when the deal moves on
Exit events end the sequence for a contact when the deal is won, lost or changes stage again.
The same job, without a builder.
Builder-style marketing tools make you assemble every piece by hand. With Sequence, your agent does the assembly from one sentence, and you review the result.
In a builder, you
- Map CRM fields to marketing fields in a sync settings screen
- Build a separate workflow for every pipeline stage and job type
- Stack AND/OR rules to keep the wrong customers out of each segment
- Paste merge tags for appointment times into every message
- Re-test the whole setup every time the CRM changes
With Sequence, you
Type one sentence. Your agent makes 5 calls:
- connect_integration
- create_sequence
- upsert_template
- add_step
- update_sequence
Pipedrive events Sequence understands
Lead, deal and activity changes arrive as named events with the deal or lead details attached.
- Leads
- crm_lead.created, updated, archived and deleted.
- Deals
- deal.created, stage_changed, won, lost and updated.
- Appointments
- From activities of the types you choose, or from a date and time field on the deal.
- Custom fields
- Text, number, date, time, phone, money, option, user, person and organization custom fields arrive as cf_ properties you can filter on and use in templates.
Texts for your team, not just your customers
When a meeting is assigned, the deal owner or the advisor named in a custom field gets the appointment.assigned event. A staff sequence can text them the details and a reminder before it starts.
Nothing changes in your CRM
Sequence creates one webhook in Pipedrive so it hears about changes, and removes only that webhook when you disconnect. It never edits your deals, leads or contacts.
Questions
Does Sequence change my Pipedrive data?
No. It creates and removes only its own webhook.
Can I use Pipedrive custom fields?
Yes. Text, number, date, time, phone, money, option, user, person and organization fields arrive as cf_ properties, usable in filters and templates.
Can texts go to my sales team?
Yes. Staff sequences send to the deal owner or an advisor field when a meeting is assigned.
Do contacts need to opt in to texts?
Yes. Texts go only to contacts with SMS consent. An owner can attest that new Pipedrive contacts consented, which records that evidence.
